is proof enough that you can almost seamlessly update with very few hiccups in getting your preferred setup working. whether it is for a mixer track, an entire mixer, a channel setting, FPC preset, etc etc. The fact that you can still open any previous file. Image-Line makes immigrating settings insanely easy and (usually) flawless. And as for all the people suggesting "you don't want to lose settings" or "they already have their environment set up". that people that are still using 12.5 and below are shooting themselves in the foot with a lack of new features. who the heck really wants to make that trade? I would argue.

Yes, I miss being able to just pull up WASP as a channel, but not bad enough to give up a 64 bit environment. Who doesn't want Scalable GUI components with custom control surfaces you can create to control literally anything (instead of looking at a 1994 gui of "dashboard's channel"). Who doesn't want seamless bridging? Who doesn't want drag-and-drop sample support between endless numbers of different tools (edison, newtone, newbeat, slicex, slicer, sampler, direct wave, the list goes on.). I've been on since Fruity Loops 2.0 "pro" and am constantly amazed how Image-Line continues to make things better. If they feel they get a better workflow out of it, cool. I'm not doggin' on anyone still using infamous 7, or 12.5, or whatever. Unpopular Opinion: The newer versions are simply better. If you don't have a default limiter and the sound clips, it's gonna sound super distorted and you will know to turn the volume down.Īs I said, the difference between knowing and not knowing that there's a limiter on the master makes a huge difference. It then creates a bad habit over time till you discover what a limiter does, and you then take it off of the default template so that you only use it when you need it. So when you make super loud tracks as a beginner, it's gonna be because it's limiting like crazy without you even knowing about it. A beginner would will have no idea about any of this. What fl limiter (in default template) does is limit the volume at 0db, meaning you aren't clipping anymore. Say you just bought fl studio, and created your first project, and it's clipping like crazy. What is bad is you not knowing there's a limiter on the master in the first place.
